A. Matthew McQuerter is an American born artist with an intuitively keen eye for recognizing both beauty and grit. Photography is a trustworthy medium in which he effectively documents experience through composition whilst acknowledging the limitations of a lens. Through exploration, education, and persistence, he has developed an understanding and knowledge for technical ability, style, and visual language.

His most recent explorations in multi-media and contemporary sculpture have manifest and given physicality to his relationship with found objects and declaration of art to items often deemed disposable.  

 

Almost a decade into his professional career, his mission statement has remained the same: “To compose within life is a practice in presence.” From Portraits and still life photography to films and sculpture,  his authentic diaristic approach is felt. His passion for art has taken him around the World creating as life unfolds. Raw, honest, and imperfect.
